The Conference
Four Days of Powerful Talks
27 - 30 Nov 2023
09:00 am
The inaugural International Conference on Maritime Autonomy and Remote Navigation (ICMAR Nav) will take place from 27-30 November 2023 at the Australian Maritime College in Launceston, Tasmania.

Autonomy is an important subject for the maritime industry to discuss, with strong opinions from those supporting and opposing future technology. There are many concepts and applications for maritime autonomy, that could greatly benefit the industry far beyond the illusion of unmanned ships, which the term ‘Maritime Autonomy’ seems to trigger.
These range from smart bridges to unmanned bridges, where watchkeepers will be ‘on call’ when an alarm sounds, similar to unmanned machinery spaces, which will help to reduce fatigue for watchkeepers. Unmanned bridges may be controlled remotely from remote vessel operating centres or autonomous navigation systems.
Addressing the theme ‘Driving Forward Autonomy in the Maritime Industry’, ICMAR Nav is designed to promote discussion about breakthroughs, challenges, and progression of autonomy in the maritime industry.
Anyone with an interest in the future of shipping should attend, this includes:

-
Equipment manufacturers
-
Shipping companies
-
Maritime regulators
-
Port operators
-
Mariners and Seafarers
